Impey Bears is the name I am using for the toys and stories that I have developed based on my PhD research. I adopt a creative approach using a mix of fictional stories and toys to encourage playful activities within outdoor settings. One of the most dominant assumptions in outdoor learning is the need to be challenged to ‘step out of your comfort zone’. My work offers an alternative perspective and invites people to come into a comfortable, safe place and join in a playful exploration of nature. I am developing a range of toys and stories to encourage you to step outside and to play, whatever your age!
